Jasmine Alvarez received her BS in Organizational Management, and her MBA in Business Administration from Patten University in Oakland CA .  She became inspired to take up the practice of law while working at a not for profit organization in San Francisco, CA.    She witnessed how proper legal representation can make all the difference in a person’s life during the most stressful of situations.  She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of the District of Columbia, Dave A. Clarke School of Law.  What sets UDC apart from other Institutions is that each student must provide hundreds of hours of pro bono legal service in forms of a legal clinic.  This helps the community as well as provides significant real-world experience to the graduate. Ms. Alvarez worked 350 hours in the low income tax payer clinic, as well as 350 hours in the immigration clinic.

 

In her spare time, she loves to spend every moment with her husband raising their two-year-old son, and dog Vince. As an avid animal lover, she dedicates her time to animal rescue.  Also as an avid traveller and backpacker, she has travelled over 20 countries. She is fluent in English and Farsi, and is barred to practice in the states of Maryland and Texas.

Johnda D. Scott, a native of Trenton, New Jersey is a graduate of Douglass College at Rutgers University and George Washington University Law School.

Ms. Scott has practiced law for over 20 years. She committed early on to serving indigent criminal defendants through her employment with the Commonwealth of Virginia Office of the Public Defender, and later in private practice in Central and Northern Virginia. Ms. Scott owned and operated her own general practice law firm for 8 years in Prince William County, Virginia with a heavy emphasis in criminal law and family law. Her current practice with the Alvarez Law Firm includes Criminal Defense (Misdemeanor and Felony), Family Law (Divorce, Custody, Support), and Personal Injury matters.

Ms. Scott is an active writer and blogger, with a growing daily readership of over 1500.
